Hello History · for teachers & schools

Hello HistoryHumy.ai

Hello History for schoolsis now Humy.ai.

Hello History is the app we launched in December 2022 so anyone could talk with a historical figure. Teachers brought it into class first, so in 2023 we built the school edition as its own platform and called it Humy. Same team, same figures, plus the sources, assignments and privacy paperwork a school needs.

The Hello History app stays on iOS and Android for personal use. Classes, assignments and district paperwork live here.

What changed

The app got teachers curious.Humy is what they asked for next.

Hello History is a chat app: pick a figure, ask, read. Every request that came back from classrooms, for sources, assignments, grading, languages, no student logins and a data agreement a district would sign, was built into Humy instead.

Frequently asked

Coming from the app? What teachers ask first.

  • Yes. Both are built by Humy Technologies AB in Stockholm. Hello History is the consumer app we launched in December 2022; Humy.ai is the school platform we built in 2023 once teachers started bringing the app into class. The historical figures began in the app. The sources, assignments and privacy agreements were built for Humy.

  • It became Humy. The education plan on the Hello History site now points to humy.ai, and everything a school needs, from class links and auto-graded assignments to signed student data privacy agreements, lives on Humy. The app stays a personal product.

  • Create a free teacher account at portal.humy.ai. It includes 20 messages a month, all five assignment formats and auto-grading. Students never need accounts: they join your assignment through a link or QR code, in the browser, including on Chromebooks.

  • Yes, on iOS and Android, for anyone who wants to talk with a historical figure on their phone. It does not include classroom tools or school data privacy agreements. For teaching, use Humy.

  • Humy. It was built to pass a district review: figures answer from an archive of primary sources and show the page behind each quote, the teacher sets the figures, reading level and rubric, students join without accounts, and student data is never used to train AI models. Signed student DPAs cover 16 US states, 15 through The Education Cooperative and California separately, and are published at humy.ai/security.

  • Yes, and we publish the rate. Quotes are copied from documents, never generated: in our August 2026 benchmark none of the 1,323 quotes the system produced were made up. The AI-written prose around them still carried an invented detail in about one answer in eight, down from more than one in five for the same model without sources. Catching one is part of the lesson, and every claim keeps its source one click away.

  • Teachers start free: 20 messages a month with all five assignment formats and auto-grading included. School plans start at $600 per school, per year, scaling with the number of teachers. A 20-minute call gets you the exact number and a pilot for your first classrooms.

  • Humy's library holds more than 1,200 figures, roughly three times the app's, and any figure can be given its own archive of documents so it quotes them instead of improvising. If a figure your class used is missing, write to hello@humy.ai and we will add it.
